About there years ago, it was fortunately for me just two weeks out of the country on holiday. I could return before New Zealand first covid 19 locked down the country border; I flew to Cambodia, spending time there for two weeks. While there, I flew from Phnom Penh Airport to Seim Reap, Angkor Wat. It is on Guinness World Records and Khmer’s most important heritage site. I went there several times with my mum and little brother as a teenager. I planned to stay there for only a couple of days because I had to go to Thailand with my brother. I stayed in a hotel near the tourist site, Angkor Wat. The following day, I left the hotel room and headed to Angkor Thom, the most significant central ancestor temple among many historical temples. Things changed, though; I suppose to be inside the historical building, but I walked off from there because I saw beautiful, colourful butterflies; they caught my eyes. So I chased after them. Accidentally, I went deeper into bushes mixed with tree forests. Then, I smelled beautiful wild jasmine flowers, much more likeable than an expensive euphoric fragrance. I heard the bride singing at the top of the trees and saw the waterfall. I then began to sit on the green dot and enjoyed observing what was around me. I wanted to be there longer, but I was aware of my safety cos I was alone deep in the forest. However, a brief moment of unplanned and spontaneous memories is worth the entire two weeks of my holiday trip to Khmer, Cambodia.
