It is argued by some that the most beneficial way of minimising the commuter time is to establish better infrastructure while others maintain that there are many effective ways of reducing travel time to work. This essay discusses both perspectives and why I believe that introducing options for working from home is far more practical than developed city transport links.

There are some who believe that investing in road infrastructure bring about massive benefits bringing the time down which supposed to be spent on travelling to work places. This simply means that providing public and private transport services frequently reduces the waiting time in queues for buses and rails, thereby improving commuter’s concerns related to the transport. Take Japan as an example where a large volumes of metro services have been introduced to the public in order to slash the timing that passengers have to spend daily basis while making journies to work places. As a result of this, commuter timing has been reduced significantly promoting the work life balance.

However, I completely agree with those who claim that blended working and remote working options could positively affect the commuter’s time as opposed to improved transport facilities. This means when workers are not aught to commute, they are able to cut commuting time simply being at home. This seems to be one of the best measures to beat off lengthy travel concerns. If the governments had been fully aware of the significance of telecommuting, they would not have concentrated on expanding the urbanized transport systems much targeting at cutting down on time to work destinations. In this way, it is imperative for government to take note on potential advantages of shifting traditional work places into virtual work opportunities rather than spending exorbitant amount of money for facilitating the commuter’s work routes in order to save the time.

In conclusion, even though promoted city infrastructure is likely to be an impressive step to be taken in regards to spare time, I firmly believe that making adjustments to work places introducing online work options could leads to a better time conservation.

  1. Nice one Deepika ????
+ Clear introduction: very good idea to have your position in your outline statement.
    + Very good topic sentences.
+ Your second idea (remote work) is very well developed with a clear (and relevant) example.
    + Lots of high-level vocabulary
    – Your first body paragraph starts talking about investing in roads, but then your example goes on to talk about public transport in Japan. Remember, each paragraph should explore a certain idea. As a result, a more appropriate example might be a country that has invested in creating a lot of large roads.
    – Some small mistakes: “aught” (I don’t know what this is), “places. As…” (places. As…), “could leads” (could lead)
    – Make sure your position is directly answering the question. For example, your conclusion talks about “leading to a better time conservation”; you can simply say “reduce the time that people spend travelling to work”
