  1. Well, I live in a spacious house in bhagalpur. It has a white colour wall .It is in the main area of city. I stay with my parents there. My house has a 5 bedrooms, large dining area and a one open kitchen. We also have a garden with lots of flowers.

    1. Hi there, your answer is well-structured and mostly free of any errors. There are only slight errors that need correcting:

“Well, I live in a spacious house in Bhagalpur. It has white-coloured walls. It’s in the main area of the city. I stay there with my parents. My house has 5 bedrooms, a large dining area, and an open kitchen. We also have a garden with lots of flowers.”

Mistake 1: Remember to capitalize place names.
Mistake 2: The description of the wall color should be ‘white-coloured walls’, not ‘a white colour wall’.
Mistake 3: Always use an article before a singular noun: ‘the main area’.

      Keep up the great work!

  2. Well, I live in a spacious bunglow located in Bhagalpur Bihar. It’s has a white coloured walls. I share my living space with my parents and sister. My house has a two large bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and a living room.

    1. Hi there,

Your answer is generally good and well-structured, but there are a couple of small errors that you can improve on.

Here’s a corrected version of your answer: “Well, I live in a spacious bungalow located in Bhagalpur, Bihar. It has white-coloured walls. I share my living space with my parents and sister. My house has two large bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a living room.”

      Three corrections:

      1. The correct spelling for ‘bunglow’ is ‘bungalow’.
      2. Instead of “It’s has a white coloured walls.”, it should be “It has white-coloured walls.”
      3. Lastly, ‘a two large bedrooms’ should be ‘two large bedrooms’.

Keep practicing, you’re doing well overall!

  3. I live in a beautiful modern house in a residential neighbourhood of Stonesfield in Auckland. It’s a chic house, which I share with my wife and children. There are 3 bedrooms, a living room and an open-plan kitchen.

  4. I live in a semi detached house in the outskirts of Siaya Town. It is a two bedroomed house and is relatively bigger than houses of similar rental charges in the town center. We do share it with my two sons. The kitchen is equally spacious making food preparation sessions enjoyable.

    1. Your response was very clear and well organized. However, there was a slight grammatical mistake. Let’s correct that:

“I live in a semi-detached house on the outskirts of Siaya Town. It’s a two-bedroom house and it’s larger than similar rental properties in the town center. I share it with my two sons. The kitchen is also quite large, which makes preparing meals enjoyable.”

You were doing well in providing details about your house, but remember in IELTS you are also evaluated for your ability to describe and compare. Instead of just saying your kitchen is ‘equally spacious’, try to compare it with something to give more context.

Keep up the good work! Remember that practice makes perfect. To improve your IELTS skills, I would recommend checking out englishprotips.com.

  5. I live in a cozy two-storey house in a residential area of Irisan in Baguio . It’s a family house which I share with my siblings and parents. In addition, it has five bedrooms with a spacious living area and kitchen. Lastly, in front of the house is a garage.

    1. Your response is already excellent, well done! You’ve provided detailed information and structured your answer beautifully. I can’t see any mistakes in this answer. Remember to speak with confidence during the actual test. Keep up the good practice!

  6. Well, I live in a spacious house in Kunshan, which is located on the southern part of Suzhou. It’s a bright and cheerful home and I stay at home with my parents and my younger sister. There are four bedrooms, a comfortable living room and a beautiful garden which I where I like most of the house.

    1. Your response is almost perfect! Just one small correction needs to be made. Instead of saying “which I where I like most of the house.”, you can say, “which I like the most in the house.”

Here’s the corrected sentence: ” Well, I live in a spacious house in Kunshan, which is located in the southern part of Suzhou. It’s a bright and cheery home where I live with my parents and my younger sister. There are four bedrooms, a comfortable living room and a beautiful garden which I like the most in the house.”

      Keep up the good work!

  7. I live in a residential neighbourhood on the outskirts of Suzhou. It’s a small and cosy flat which I share with my family. There’s a small balcony overlooking the main street which is where I spend most of my time to look around the skyscrapers in our city.

    1. Your answer is quite good! I appreciate your use of descriptive language, it helps the listener visualize your flat. However, there’s a slight correction needed in the way you’ve phrase one sentence:

“I live in a residential neighbourhood on the outskirts of Suzhou. It’s a small and cosy flat which I share with my family. There’s a small balcony overlooking the main street where I spend most of my time looking at the skyscrapers in our city.”

Remember, use the present participle “looking” after “I spend most of my time” instead of “to look.” Good job, and keep practicing!

  8. Well, I live in a small flat with my parents on the outskirts of Suzhou. It’s a relatively high one, which is on the 13th floor. There are two bedrooms, a living room, a study and an open-plan kitchen – which I always spend time learning how to cook with my grandma.

    1. Hello! Your response is very well-structured and detailed indeed, providing a clear description of both the location and the internal composition of your home. There’s just one minor issue that needs to be addressed. Here is your corrected answer:

“Well, I live in a small flat with my parents on the outskirts of Suzhou. It’s relatively high up, being on the 13th floor. It consists of two bedrooms, a living room, a study, and an open-plan kitchen – where I always spend time learning how to cook with my grandma.”

So the amendment pertains to your use of “relatively high one.” It would be better to say “relatively high up” to describe the position of your flat within the building. Keep up the great work!

  9. l live in a modern and stylish house, which is in the centre of suzhou. l live with my parents and my sister, who is 3 years old bigger than me .The house including a samll balcony, where l spend most of my time. When you stand there, you can overlooking the main street.

    1. Your answer is quite good but there are some minor grammatical and punctuation errors. Here’s a corrected version:

“I live in a modern and stylish house, which is in the centre of Suzhou. I live with my parents and my sister, who is 3 years older than me. The house includes a small balcony, where I spend most of my time. When you stand there, you can overlook the main street.”

      Mistakes:
      1. Don’t forget to capitalize “I” when referring to yourself.
      2. It’s preferable to say “older” instead of “bigger” when talking about age.
      3. Use “includes” instead of “including” to express what your house has.
      4. The right verb to use is “overlook” not “overlooking” in this context.

I hope this helps! Keep practicing.

  10. Well, I live in a big apartment in the center of Suzhou and it is near a primary school and a small shopping mall. I live with my parents and brother .What’s more ,we have four bedrooms and a wide balcony to look at the main street

    1. Hi there! Your answer is mostly fine, with just a small hiccup. In the sentence, “What’s more, we have four bedrooms and a wide balcony to look at the main street”, the use of commas is slightly off. Here’s a corrected version: “What’s more, we have four bedrooms, and a wide balcony that overlooks the main street.” Remember that when adding more details about the same subject, you should use a comma between the details. Good luck with your studies!

  11. well, I live in a one storey flat in Waikawa Picton New Zealand. There are two bedrooms , a living room and open-plan kitchen with a huge backyard over looking toward Waikawa bay. I have been living there since 2018 with my husband, Stuart and a pet cat, Suthi.

    1. Your response is pretty good and natural. However, there is one minor grammatical error, and I think your sentence would flow better with this correction:

“Well, I live in a one-storey flat in Waikawa, Picton, New Zealand. It has two bedrooms, a living room, and an open-plan kitchen with a huge backyard overlooking Waikawa Bay. I’ve been living there with my husband, Stuart, and our pet cat, Suthi, since 2018.”

Great work otherwise, and keep practicing!

  12. I live in an old 2 story house. My husband and I had bought it about 5 years ago with a relatively cheap price but by then it was not livable so we put a lot of money and time to make it home.

    1. Your answer is great, but there is a slight issue with the last part of your sentence. Here is a corrected version:

"I live in an old 2-story house. My husband and I bought it about 5 years ago for a relatively cheap price, but at that time, it was not livable. So, we put a lot of money and time into making it home."

      1. You have used "had bought it about 5 years ago", but you should just say "bought it about 5 years ago". In your sentence, you would only use "had" if you were trying to express that your buying the house happened before another past event, which is not the case here.

      2. I replaced "by then" with "at that time" to relate the time phrase to the uninhabitable state of the house.

      3. I included "into" after "money and time", because this phrasal verb "put into" is commonly used to express the idea of investing time and money.

      Keep practicing!

  13. I live in an old 2-story house. My husband and I bought it about 5 years ago for a relatively cheap price, but at that time it was not livable. So, we put a lot of money and time into making it home. Now, it has much more modern- looking and functional layout, and it is just suitable for a couple and 2 cats.

    1. Your answer is mostly correct, but there's a slight issue with one sentence. Here's the corrected version:

"I live in an old 2-story house. My husband and I bought it about 5 years ago for a relatively cheap price, but at that time it was not livable. So, we put a lot of money and time into making it a home. Now, it has a much more modern-looking and functional layout, and it is just suitable for a couple and 2 cats."

The mistake was that you left out an "a" before "much more modern-looking and functional layout." This is a common error when using descriptive phrases. Keep practicing though, your overall response was very good!

  14. I live in a semi detached house in a residential neighbourhood in Lagos. It’s a relatively spacious house where I live with my husband and son.The library is where I like to spend some quality time with myself.

    1. Your answer is quite nice! You did very well but this is how I would correct your answer:

"I live in a semi-detached house in a residential neighborhood in Lagos. It's pretty spacious and I share it with my husband and our son. I love spending quality time by myself in our library."

      Points to remember:
      1. Remember to use commas to separate ideas for clarity.
      2. Using contractions makes your speech seem more natural and fluent.
      3. 'Pretty' is a more common adjective to describe the extent of something casually, compared to 'relatively'.

      Keep practicing! You're doing great.

  15. I live in a semi-detached house in a residential neighborhood in Lagos. It’s pretty spacious and I share it with my husband and our son. I love spending quality time by myself in our library where we have a great collection of books

  16. Well, I live in a beautiful, old apartment on the outskirts of Jeddah city. However, it’s just a stone’s throw from all basic amenities. It’s really convenient. It’s a relatively large apartment which I share with my wife and children. It has two bedrooms, a spacious dining room, and a cozy living room. It has also a modern open-plan kitchen which makes the space feel more connected and airy. It has also two bathrooms which is convenient and practical when it comes to having a lot of guests. It also has a small balcony overlooking a wide landscape of hills and greenery. It’s peaceful, especially in the mornings.

    1. Hi there, it seems like you didn't properly answer the question. To answer the question, "Tell me about the house or apartment you live in," you should provide a thorough description of your living arrangement. Here's an example for you: "I live in a small but cozy apartment in the city. It has two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and one bathroom. The best part of my apartment is the balcony that oversees the city skyline, I love sitting there in the evening. The building itself is quite old, but it's well maintained." Please try again with a description of your own.

    1. Hi, it seems like you misunderstood the question. Your response doesn't provide any information about the house or apartment you live in. A more suitable response could be: "Sure, I live in a three-bedroom apartment downtown. It's quite spacious with a nice balcony where I enjoy having my morning coffee." Try to provide more details when answering the question, okay?

  17. I live in a spacious flat in the centre of the city where you can see crowded people and congestion. There are two bedrooms and a modern living room in my flat. Most of the time I like spending in the living room as I am keen on reading newspapers on my cozy sofa

    1. Your response to the question seems quite solid, but there's just one minor mistake that I've noticed. You should say, "Most of the time, I like spending time in the living room…" Here's the corrected version of your response:

"I live in a spacious flat in the centre of the city where you can see crowded people and congestion. There are two bedrooms and a modern living room in my flat. Most of the time, I like spending time in the living room as I am keen on reading newspapers on my cozy sofa."

Keep up with the good work!

  18. I live in a spacious flat in the centre of the city.
It has two bedrooms, a beautifully designed living room and an open-plan kitchen where my son cooks delicious food for us.
There used to be a small kindergarten in front of our apartment, now you can see a garden there.
