  1. Well,i live in a small and cosy house with my parents on the outskirts of Pop.There are 3 bedrooms and open_plan kitchen and a living room.I like spend my time in my bedroom. So i don;t really spend my time at home because stay at school dormitory.

    1. Thank you for your answer. Here’s the corrected version:

“Well, I live in a small and cosy house with my parents on the outskirts of Pop. We have three bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen, and a living room. I like to spend my time in my bedroom. However, I don’t really spend much time at home because I stay at my school’s dormitory.”

Here are the mistakes I noticed:
      1. Remember to put space after a comma or a full stop.
      2. Use “an” before “open-plan kitchen” because the word open-plan begins with a vowel sound.
      3. Use “to” in “I like to spend my time.”
      4. Use the correct form of the contraction: “don’t” instead of “don;t”. I believe it was just a typo.
      5. Always remember to apply correct grammar. For example, “I stay at my school’s dormitory.”

Keep practicing and you’ll continue to improve.

  2. I live on the outskirts of Namangan with my parents. However,i stay at my school’s dormitory and share a room with my 2 other classmates. It’s a small and cosy room which overlooking the main street.

    1. Your answer is almost perfect with just a minor mistake to correct. Here’s a corrected version of your response:
“I live on the outskirts of Namangan with my parents. However, I stay at my school’s dormitory and share a room with my two other classmates. It’s a small and cosy room that overlooks the main street.”

Remember to use proper spacing after punctuation like commas and full stops. Also, when referring to numbers fewer than 10 in a sentence it’s best to spell them out. Instead of ‘2’, use ‘two’. Additionally, use “that” instead of “which” to introduce a restrictive clause. This means the information that follows is essential to the sentence.

        1. It seems like there might be a misunderstanding. The “Thanks” response you’ve provided isn’t answering the original IELTS question which is to describe the house or apartment you live in. Could you provide an answer to that question? I’m here to help review and provide feedback to make your answer better.

  3. I live in a spacious house in a residential neighbourhood. I stay at home with my family, including my uncle. There are an open-planed kitchen, a dining room and a comfortable living room. I also have a comfort bedroom, which is where I can spent time alone. At the outside my house, there is a huge lawn where my dogs really love running.

    1. Thanks for providing your answer! Here’s a corrected version of it:

“I live in a spacious house in a residential neighbourhood. I stay at home with my family, including my uncle. There is an open-plan kitchen, a dining room, and a comfortable living room. I also have a comfortable bedroom, which is where I spend time alone. Outside my house, there is a huge lawn where my dogs really love running.”

Mistake 1: Use “an” before “open-plan kitchen” instead of “a” because “open-plan” starts with a vowel sound.
Mistake 2: For your bedroom, it is better to use “comfortable” rather than “comfort”.
Mistake 3: You should use “spend” instead of “spent” as it is in the present tense.

Good job overall, please keep practicing!

  4. I live in a beautiful spacious house with my family located in the heart of the city. It has 4 large bedrooms, comfortable living room and a big kitchen where i spend most of my time baking cake.

    1. Your answer is good, but there is just one small mistake with the use of a singular word where there should be a plural one. Here’s the corrected version: “I live in a beautiful, spacious house with my family, located in the heart of the city. It has 4 large bedrooms, a comfortable living room and a big kitchen where I spend most of my time baking cakes.” Keep practicing!

  5. Well, I live in a beautiful and cozy house on the outskirts of my city, it’s a relatively large house, which I live with my host family. There are four bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, kitchen and backyard – which where I most spend of my time.

    1. Your answer is almost perfect, but there was just a minor mistake. Here’s a corrected version: “Well, I live in a beautiful and cozy house on the outskirts of my city. It’s a relatively large house, which I share with my host family. There are four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, and a backyard – which is where I spend most of my time.”

Remember to use “a” before items in a series (like “a living room, kitchen”) and use “is” to connect a subject with what it is or does (like in “which is where I spend most of my time.”). Keep up the good work!

  6. I live on the outskirts of Gliwice in a big, detached house with huge, beautiful garden. There 2 floors and two separate apartments. I live on the grund floor with my mum and a pedegree cat ragdoll, whereas upstairs lives my grandad.

    1. Your answer is almost perfect, but I spotted several minor mistakes. Here’s a corrected version of your response:

“I live on the outskirts of Gliwice in a big, detached house with a huge, beautiful garden. There are 2 floors and two separate apartments. I live on the ground floor with my mum and a pedigree cat, a Ragdoll, whereas my grandad lives upstairs.”

      1. Don’t forget to use “a” before “huge” when you’re describing your garden.
      2. “There 2 floors” should be “There are 2 floors”.
      3. “grund” should be “ground”.
      4. The placement of “Ragdoll” seemed a bit off. I corrected it for clarity.

      Keep practicing!

  7. Well , I live in an apartment which is situated at collinson street quite near to downtown , Victoria, BC.its a one bedroom apartment with a spacious kitchen and a living space. I am fortunate enough to live in this apartment as it is very safe neighborhood

    1. Hi there! Your answer is pretty good but I’ve spotted some areas that could be improved.

Corrected version: “Well, I live in an apartment which is situated on Collinson Street, quite near to downtown Victoria, BC. It’s a one-bedroom apartment with a spacious kitchen and a living space. I am fortunate enough to live in this apartment as it is in a very safe neighborhood.”

      Mistakes:
      1. You should use ‘on’ instead of ‘at’ while telling the location.
      2. You should use a comma to separate “Victoria, BC”.
      3. You should include ‘in’ before ‘a very safe neighborhood’.

Keep practicing, your answer’s on the right track!

  8. I live on the outskirts of Gliwice in a detached house with my mum, grandad and a pedigree Ragdoll. There are two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and a greenhouse with a view on the beautiful garden, which is carried by my mam perfectly. I have been living here since I was born and I can not imagine living somewhere else.

    1. Thank you for your answer. You did a great job, but a couple of corrections are needed. Here’s the corrected version:

“I live on the outskirts of Gliwice in a detached house with my mum, grandad, and a pedigree Ragdoll. There are two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a greenhouse with a view of the beautiful garden, which my mum takes care of perfectly. I have been living here since I was born and I can’t imagine living anywhere else.”

      Mistakes:
      1. You forgot to include articles (a/an/the) before ‘kitchen’ and ‘bathroom’.
      2. Use ‘view of’ instead of ‘view on’.
      3. Use ‘takes care of’ instead of ‘is carried by’ to express that your mum maintains the garden.

      Keep up the good work!

  9. I live in the centre of Juba city in a newly built serviced apartment which I share with my colleague. My studio apartment is relatively spacious with a small kitchen inside where I do light cooking sometimes. The most special part of my room is direct sunlight and south breeze from my eastern window.

    1. Your response is almost perfect! There’s just one small correction I’d suggest:
“I live in the centre of Juba city in a newly built serviced apartment, which I share with my colleague. My studio apartment is relatively spacious with a small kitchen inside where I sometimes do light cooking. The most special part of my room is the direct sunlight and south breeze from my eastern window.”

Your original sentence, “where I do light cooking sometimes” should be “where I sometimes do light cooking.” Other than that, everything else was excellent. Keep up the good work!

  10. Well, I live in a medium-rise condominium in a quite busy area in the nation’s capital. My studio unit is small, and just enough for solo-living. It’s an open floor plan, with a foldable divider to separate the sleeping area for some privacy. It may be small, but its cozy and functional.

  11. Well, I live in a modern stylish apartment on the outskirts of Chittagong. It’s a spacious house which I share with my partner. There are two bedrooms, a living room, an open-plan kitchen, and a small balcony overlooking the street, which is where I sit in the evening to unwind my mind.

    1. Your response is clear and detailed, but there is a minor mistake. When you say “It’s a spacious house”, you should refer to it as an apartment since you previously mentioned living in an apartment. Here’s the corrected version:

“Well, I live in a modern stylish apartment on the outskirts of Chittagong. It’s a spacious apartment which I share with my partner. There are two bedrooms, a living room, an open-plan kitchen, and a small balcony overlooking the street, which is where I sit in the evening to unwind my mind.”

Apart from this, your answer is great. You’ve managed to describe your living space in an engaging and descriptive way.

  12. Well, I live in the centre of the city. My house is quite spacious. It has three floors each equipped with two bedrooms and a living room along with a kitchen on each floor. The first floor is also equipped with a guest room. I live at home with my parents and my younger brother. I spent most of my day in living room as it is so bright and cheerful and at nights I go balcony to have some quiet time there.

    1. Your answer is almost perfect, but there is a minor mistake in the usage of prepositions and a little bit of fluency missing. Here is the corrected version: “Well, I live in the centre of the city. My house is quite spacious. It has three floors, each equipped with two bedrooms and a living room, along with a kitchen on each floor. The first floor also has a guest room. I live at home with my parents and my younger brother. I spend most of my day in the living room because it’s so bright and cheerful. At night, I go to the balcony to enjoy some quiet time.” Keep up the good work!

  13. Well, I live in a spacious house located in a residential neighbourhood. I live with my family, my wife and two daughters. There are three bedrooms, two restrooms, one kitchen room, dining room, living room and a small hall. Outside of the house, there is a small garden and garage, it is suit for 2 cars. Mostly I spend my time at weekends in the living room.

    1. Here’s a corrected version of your answer:

“Well, I live in a spacious house located in a residential neighbourhood. I live with my family, my wife and two daughters. We have three bedrooms, two restrooms, a kitchen, dining room, living room and a small hall. Outside of the house, we have a small garden and a garage that’s big enough for 2 cars. I mostly spend my time in the living room during weekends.”

You did a good job overall, but here are some points to improve:

      1. Avoid repetition: You mentioned “live” twice in successive sentences. Variations could be used like “reside” or “stay with”.

      2. Watch your prepositions: Use ‘a’ before ‘kitchen’ instead of ‘one kitchen room.’

      3. Clarity: You could say “a garage big enough for 2 cars” instead of “it’s suit for 2 cars”. This improves clarity and sounds more natural.

  14. I live with my parents in a beautiful spacious house in a residential neighbourhood in the center of city. There are three bedrooms , two living rooms and relatively a large kitchen. Also I have a spacious dining room overlooking the garden, where I spent most of my time.

    1. Your answer is almost perfect, but there is a slight mistake with the verb tense in your last sentence. Instead of “where I spent,” it should be “where I spend.” This indicates that you currently spend most of your time in the dining room. Here’s the corrected version:

“I live with my parents in a beautiful spacious house in a residential neighbourhood in the center of the city. There are three bedrooms, two living rooms, and a relatively large kitchen. Also, I have a spacious dining room overlooking the garden, where I spend most of my time.”

      Keep up the good work!

  15. Well, I live in a huge house in my village. I share it with my family. In the house of mine there are four bedrooms, one kitchen, and also a huge dining area.

    1. Your answer is good, but there is a small mistake: we usually say “my house” instead of “the house of mine”. So a corrected version would be:

“Well, I live in a huge house in my village, which I share with my family. My house has four bedrooms, one kitchen, and a huge dining area.”

Remember, in English, we tend to use possessive adjectives (my, your, his, her, our, their) before a noun to show ownership, rather than saying “the X of Y”. Keep practicing and you’ll get it!

  16. I live in a spacious, old apartment located in the lower level of a 100-year-old building in Center City, Philadelphia. I share it with my husband and son. It has 2 bedrooms, a large master bedroom, and a small bedroom for my son. It has a living room and an open-plan kitchen. My favorite part of our house is the granite countertop island, between the kitchen and dining area. I also love that our unit has lots of closets, giving us adequate space for storage, which is very rare in the city.

    1. I can’t see any mistakes in your answer. Your response was well composed and detailed, which is very good for the IELTS speaking section. You also included specific, personal details, which helps your answer sound more natural. Keep up the good work!

  17. I live in an old, spacious apartment located in the lower level of a 100-year-old building in Center City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is a 2-bedroom apartment that I share with my husband and 7-year-old son. The master bedroom is bigger than my son’s bedroom, and both of them have a walk-in closet for storage. It has a living room, a shower with a standard-sized tub, and an open-plan kitchen. My favorite part of our apartment is the granite countertop island located between the kitchen and dining area. I also like that it has 3 more closets aside from the ones in the bedroom because it provides adequate storage space, a feature that is very rare in the city.

  18. Well, I live in a spacious house on the outskirts of Dhaka. It’s a relatively large apartment full of cheer. Additionally, I share my home with my family members. There are two large bedrooms, a wide living room, and a small balcony overlooking the main street.

    1. Your response is quite good, but there’s a slight mix-up in terminology between ‘house’ and ‘apartment’. These terms usually imply different types of dwellings.

      Here’s the corrected version:

“Well, I live in a spacious apartment on the outskirts of Dhaka. It’s a relatively large place, full of cheer. Additionally, I share my home with my family members. There are two large bedrooms, a wide living room, and a small balcony overlooking the main street.”

Remember, be consistent with the words you choose to describe your dwelling: if it’s an apartment, stick with ‘apartment’ throughout. Conversely, if it’s a house, continue referring to it as ‘house’.

  19. Well, I live in a quiet detached house with a small private garden, on the outskirts of Kocaeli, not far from the Marmara Sea. It’s a relatively bright and cheerful house which I share wit my parents. There are two bedrooms, a living room, open-plan kitchen and a small garden which is where I spend most of time.

    1. Your answer is really good and provides detailed information. I noticed a small typo, so let me correct it:

“Well, I live in a quiet detached house with a small private garden, on the outskirts of Kocaeli, not far from the Marmara Sea. It’s a relatively bright and cheerful house which I share with my parents. There are two bedrooms, a living room, open-plan kitchen and a small garden which is where I spend most of my time.”

      Keep up the good work!

  20. Well, I live in a modern apartment in Ho Chi Minh City. I share with my partner, she is my classmate. It’s very small and cosy for two people. One thing i like best is my living room, it’s very light in the morning.

    1. Here’s a corrected version of your answer:

“Well, I live in a modern apartment in Ho Chi Minh City that I share with my partner, who happens to also be my classmate. It’s a tad small but super cosy for two people. One thing I like the most is my living room because it’s so bright in the morning.”

      Note the following:
      1. Be careful with how you structure your sentences. It’s better to say “I live in a modern apartment in Ho Chi Minh City that I share with my partner.”.
      2. “She is my classmate” is a fragment. Fragments are incomplete sentences. It’s better to combine this with the previous sentence: “I live in a modern apartment that I share with my partner, who happens to also be my classmate.”
      3. Replace ‘very light’ with ‘so bright’. It’s more natural to say that a room is ‘bright’ when there’s a lot of light.
      Keep practicing! You’re doing great.
